Laser Alignment
The objective of optimized shaft alignment is to increase the operating life span of rotating machinery. To achieve this goal, components that are the most likely to fail must be made to operate within their acceptable design limits.
“A condition in which exists, when both the shaft centrelines of driver and driven machines are in line in line with each other”.
While misalignment has no measurable effect on motor efficiency, correct shaft alignment ensures the smooth, efficient transmission of power from the motor to the driven equipment. Incorrect alignment occurs when the centrelines of the motor and the driven equipment shafts are not in line with each other. Misalignment produces excessive vibration, noise, coupling and bearing temperature increases, and premature bearing or coupling failure.
The importance of good coupling alignment is often under-rated. Even with flexible couplings poor alignment causes bearings, seals and couplings to wear faster.
Laser alignment is by far the most accurate and efficient method to eliminate this problem.
We can also provide geometric measurements like straightness, flatness, perpendicularity and parallelism. We have capabilities to do alignment of hot machines using compensation. We can also measure thermal growth and soft foot (both short foot & angled foot).
Benefits achieved by Laser Shaft Alignment would be:
- Significant Power saving can be through accurate alignment.
- Protects the assets and increases product quality as the vibrations are reduced to very low levels.
- Extends the machine availability as the mean time between failure increases.
- Increases maintenance savings as spare parts consumption is reduced.
- Increase in time savings and Decrease in consumption of manpower for carrying out alignment.
